Megan and James’ Wedding

Meg and James had known one another for years then in 2012 their paths crossed again and they got together.  James proposed in February 2019 in a place called Friendship Woods which one of their favourite places to go walking.

Both wanted to have a relaxed and enjoyable day at their chosen venue, Pengenna Manor! Megs had been working in the wedding and events industry and came across Pengenna Manor when Hazel asked her to assist at a wedding show called ‘A Most Marvellous Wedding Experience’, back in 2015 and she fell in love with the venue!

The biggest surprise for Megs and James was of course Covid-19! The wedding was not what they had originally planned and their plans changed several times – the hardest change was having to cut their guest list to just 15 just a week and a half before the wedding.

“At one point we thought we may not even be able to get married at all in 2020 but with Richard’s help, we made the day possible and had the perfect intimate ceremony. Unfortunately, we were unable to have our reception but we look forward to hopefully being able to have this later on this year around our anniversary date and will enjoy having a celebrant ceremony and reception with all of our guests there.”

Favourite Parts

“One of our favourite parts of the day has to be seeing each other in the ceremony room, we both remember smiling a lot! We had some family members join us on Zoom as we were restricted on the number of guests we could have present so that was quite entertaining!

The guests that were with us had to wear masks which was a bit strange as we couldn’t see their expressions as such but it was definitely memorable! The best bit was when the registrar announced us as Mr & Mrs Stuart – it was an amazing feeling. We remember laughing a lot throughout the day.”

Wedding Day Coordination

“A huge thank you to Beckie for coordinating our wedding on the day for us. From organising the zoom call with our additional guests to controlling the music, serving our drinks and sorting my veil for photos, nothing was too much trouble so thank you!!”
